Needle Felting Abstracts

Well...my computer went down for a bit, so I was inspired to work more on "real-time" art. These scans are of my latest, needle felted "paintings".

I recently acquired some new wool from my new friend Doxie, at The Special Tea Shop on EBay. These fibers are unlike anything I have purchased, so far and are very fine and short. Unexpectedly wonderful for shading! Lots of new, intuitive art is showing up, so look for more, very soon!

In the mean time, I hope you will enjoy these little works. The one on top was fun to do, but I haven't thought of a title for it, yet. It is an ACEO (2.5" x 3.5") and will be listed soon.

The other one is an abstract that just showed up, called "Bird Watching". It's 2.5" x 4.5". Birds show up, a lot, in my work, especially in the abstracts.

Look for a new needle felted character, soon! He's finished. He just has to be photographed, so the next blog will showcase "The Green Man's Cat".

Tootles!

Bettina, you'll drive me crazy! I want one of your needle-felted pieces so badly!!

Well, maybe after the holiday season is over...right now every last cent has to be saved for gifts.

But these are just beautiful!

Ahhh...but, May, are we not swap partners in the Christmas ornament swap? I'm saving for gifts, too...and bills, but I have an idea for a special ornament. :)

Love your flat needle felted pieces, Bettina. I think the birdie is my fave. Love Jack, though.
I must tell you, I came to your blog a few months ago and your name really stuck in my head. I was working on a little doll at the time and decided the name Bettina fit her very well. I'm making many more "Bettina in Brown"s for a Christmas sale. You can see her sitting in the lap of a larger doll in the post "Embroidered Dolls" on my blog. Thanks for the inspiration!
ps-Scroll down to the bottom to see some of my needle felted stuff..

Bettina,
Your needle felting is wonderful. You can see two little bears I have done on my blog,(nothing compared to your work)I am a beginner but i really enjoyed the process. I just LOVE your pumpkin man. and the cat too.... You should do well selling your things. It is something you don't see too often, at least in my neck of the woods:-)
I was inspired by your flat work too. I just ordered a selection of rovings (full spectrum of colors)which have just arrives. I can't wait to try them. You are an insiration. Thanks so much for the journey.
